SAP had already been working in Ukraine for many years, supporting the SOS Kyiv organisation and its associated animal shelter in the country’s capital city. Since the war started, the organisation has suffered from a shortage of food, medication, money to pay the salaries of the few employees who remain in Kyiv and fuel to transport the animals. The animal shelter looks after about 1000 dogs and 300 cats. It was set on fire three times within a very short time but, luckily, soldiers succeeded in putting out these fires. Fortunately, none of the animals or the people involved were injured, but the fires caused major damage to the property. A great deal of the money that had been intended for the animals was gobbled up by the repair work.
The ROLDA Foundation is an organisation located in Galati, directly on the Romanian/Ukrainian border. SAP has supported it for many years.
We have provided additional financial support to our partner animal protection organisation in Romania since the beginning of the war. This helps it to take in stray animals, animals that come from animal shelters in Ukraine and animals that belong to refugees. It is vital for every animal in need to receive immediate medical care, food, and accommodation.
In addition, ROLDA also delivers relief supplies into Ukraine. This is then distributed to those private shelters and veterinary clinics inside the war zone that cannot be reached by any humanitarian aid.
The following animals and people received help thanks to your support!!! We couldn't have been there for them without your generosity, so thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
A small animal protection organisation in Ukraine that takes in farmed livestock. Many farms have been destroyed by bombs, and those animals that survive either wander about aimlessly and/or in an injured state.
SAP’s support has enabled ten tonnes of hay to be delivered for the benefit of these farm animals.
With our help, 26 horses from Ukraine have been saved, provided with medical care and given safe housing. There are still four horses from Ukraine at the clinic at present.
Eight horses and 32 donkeys are also currently still receiving direct care in Kyiv.
SAP has been working in Ukraine and Rumania for many years already. Refugees and their pet animals now urgently need help, medical care, food and accommodation. Our priority right now is to provide them with immediate support, but Ukraine will continue to need our assistance for some time to come.
Let’s help them together! THANK YOU!
